What is the criteria to attend summer school?
- Students who do not successfully pass ELA will be assigned to attend one course.
- Students who do not successfully pass math will be assigned to attend one course.
- Students who do not successfully pass ELA or Math and social studies and science will be assigned two courses. (Either Math or ELA and science or social studies)
- Students who do not successfully pass ELA and math will be assigned two courses.
- Students who do not successfully pass ELA, math, science and social studies will be assigned all four courses.

Where will summer school take place?
The location depends on your home Zip Code and the number of classes that your child needs to take. There are 5 summer school sites throughout the city (2 half day sites and 3 full day sites). The notification letter will indicate what summer school hub site your child will attend.

How will I receive notification if my child needs to attend summer school?
Beginning on June 13th, schools will send home notifications to students that are required to attend summer programming. Parents can view student summer schedules in Infinite Campus starting on June 24th.

Will summer school be in-person or virtual?
Summer school will be in-person only. Virtual programming will not be offered.

What are the dates of the program?
Summer school will begin on July 11th and end on August 12th.

What are the times of programming?
Times of programming depend on how many classes your child needs to take. Programming will run Monday through Friday. Students who need half day classes will attend either the morning A.M. or afternoon P.M. session.

Will my child have an electronic device?
Yes. Your child will keep their district-issued device and bring this to summer school. If you
do not have a device, please contact the IT Help Desk at 816-7100.

What programming will be offered in summer school?
Summer school will be a combination of academic recovery in Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science. In addition, students will engage in social/emotional lessons.

Will my student receive transportation?
Your child will be issued an NFTA bus pass on the first day of programming if they live .7 miles or more away from the summer school hub. Students will ride the NFTA for free on July 11th to the summer school hub site.

Does my child receive breakfast and lunch?
Students who attend the program will receive a daily breakfast and lunch, dependent on schedule.
