It’s terrific to see everyone again and meet all our new students and families!
In September we will be learning about ourselves and what we have in common with each other to strengthen our bonds as a community.
We will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month which spans between September and October and as a part of our year-round Anti-Bias and Equity curriculum we will explore the ways in which Black Lives Matter, too.
Also in October, we will celebrating Indigenous Peoples and Italian Heritage Day. We will be exploring the transition into Autumn through September and October.
In November we will be focusing on activism and how to be a responsible citizen and be considerate of other’s needs, not just our own.
I’m especially excited to welcome our Instructional Technology Coach, Mrs. Towey. She will be spearheading some new initiatives in the STEAM Lab and around the school, and we will be collaborating on Enrichment projects throughout the year. We will observe Digital Citizenship Week in October, but Digital Citizenship will be an ongoing focus for Mrs. Towey throughout the school year, so the students learn how to appropriately interact with technology as they grow. Having another technology expert in the STEAM Lab will provide an even more robust experience and enhanced individualized instruction.
