Welcome to Pre-K! 

Early childhood is such an exciting time for students and their families!  Children are welcomed into their "school family" and provided a safe space to learn and grow.  Pre-K sets the foundation for a successful academic career and a positive connection to school.  As a PreKindergarten school social worker, my role is to assist the teachers with supporting the individual needs of the students to ensure they are able to reach their fullest potential by:

• Referring identified students to the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
• Observing and interacting in the classroom setting
• Offering suggestions for classroom management and individual student intervention
• Providing sensory supports to promote attention and focus 
• Collaborating with Pre-K Instructional Coaches to provide intervention, materials, and resources
• Supporting the implementation of the Second Step social emotional curriculum
• Collaborating with BPS partners at Say YES to provide services to families
• Providing linkages to families for community resources
