My Home Page
Welcome to my new website!
I will be spending some time getting everything together but would appreciate any suggestions along the way.
My name is Kim Donoghue and I am the School Social Worker at the Marva J. Daniel Futures Preparatory School and I look forward to supporting all students as they strive to reach their academic and social goals. Some of the services I provide in the school are:
Classroom support to teachers
Linkages to Community Resources for families
Committee On Special Education Evaluation Services
Implementation of Positive Behavioral Intervention Services
I am also the Girls on the Run Coach for our school. Girls on the Run is an after school program that combines physical activity with social emotional teaching. The next season will begin at the end of March 2015 and will be offered to the first 12 girls in 4th and 5th grades who sign up. Applications will be available mid March.
Finally I am a member of the Positive Behavioral Intervention Services team. This program is often referred to as PBIS. PBIS is a system of support that helps teach and re-enforce the academic and behavioral skills needed for students to achieve in an academic setting. PBIS is provided to all students at some level and higher level of supports are provided to students who need extra support. Programs such as Check In Check Out and Small Social Academic Instructional Groups are examples of support that are available to those students who may be experiencing difficulties. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel your child could benefit from the additional supports provided through PBIS.
Please feel free to contact me at 816-3800 if you would like to find out additional information or if you have concerns regarding your child that I may assist with.
Thank you for all you are doing to support your child's success at school. Together we will help your child achieve success!!
