Dear North Park Families:
North Park students have access to a modern library media center and accompanying programming that emphasizes fostering a passion for life-long learning, as well as developing the skills to do so.
As a learning library, your children are learning how to use the library efficiently for research, and also how to select appropriate material for pleasure
The lessons and activities that take place in the library are in direct support of the New York State Common Core Curriculum as it pertains to particular subject areas. Your children’s time in the library is an extension of their traditional classes. The NYS Common Core Curriculum puts a priority on Information Literacy and Critical Literacy, and the library is a wonderful resource for teaching these skills alongside current research methods.
Our library has a broad selection of books appropriate for readers of all levels. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the material, or any questions or concerns about anything library-related, feel free to contact me by phone (816-3440) or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Michael P. Geyer, Library Media Specialist
