Mrs. Peszko's Home Page - Reading Rocks
I hope you find some great books, websites, ideas and activities here to help make reading fun!
The MOST important assignment is to READ every night for about 30 minutes. The MOST important reason for this is, to become a better reader, you must read!
THIS is especially true with school closed! IF you do not know what to do with all the homeschooling, just read to them. Talk about it. Look for good words. Have fun with it. Have them read with you. Echo read, you read a few words and they repeat it. POINT to the words!
Of course there are no books coming home from the Blue Bookmobile for the next month. Please reread a favorite book. Rereading helps build fluency! You can also borrow ebooks from the public library, there are many free online books for this school closure. Reading A-Z is great. If you have a printer you can download and print small books.
BAGGIES come home every Monday. PLEASE make sure your child reads their book at least twice every night. If they could read to you one more time that would be wonderful. The more they read, the better they get. Please sign the reading log on Thursday, and they will return it on Friday. They get a special reward for bringing it back! This nightly reading will greatly improve their reading skills, build their vocabulary, and hopefully make them life long readers and learners. Your help is so important, we can't thank you enough.
I am happy to help in any way I can. Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns.
