Mr. Nathan Kahler

I am your new 7th and 8th grade science teacher. This is my 23rd year teaching science in Buffalo. I have a passion for teaching science and have a wealth of knowledge and experiences gained since the time I was a young boy. My parents exposed me to nature and the outdoors often and the rest is history. I am an avid fisherman, hunter, hiker, gardener, naturalist, and skier. I love to travel and just got back from a summer road trip where I drove 2000 miles from Seattle to Yellowstone with my wife and 2 daughters. We stopped off at many stunning areas to explore national forests and national parks in the Cascade, Bitterroot, Grand Teton and Rocky Mountain ranges. The entire trip took 2 weeks and was truly an epic and relaxing trip.

In terms of my training I received a Bachelor's degree at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Master's degree in Biology Education at Buffalo State College. I have volunteered with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and worked in a hospital for 3 years as an orderly on an orthopedic floor. Both of my parents worked in the medical field so I have a wealth of knowledge in many different types of science careers. I try to instill interest in science careers among my students by sharing the countless experiences I have been lucky to be a part of.
