  • Hello School #81 families!

My name is Sarah Rowland and I am the School Psychologist at School #81. I have 19 years experience working with children. Prior to becoming a School Psychologist, I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2006 I earned my Master’s degree in School Psychology, followed by a Ph.D. in Counseling and School Psychology in 2009. I am Nationally Certified as a School Psychologist (NCSP).

Some of my prior experiences have been: working on research in early childhood math, conducting research/ counseling people with Eating Disorders, working with/conducting research on children with Autism, and conducting research/writing materials to train foster care workers.

I am fortunate to be working at School #81 for my fourth year now!

    What is a School Psychologist?

School psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students.
