Physical Education @BPS 82

  • Welcome to my new classroom website!

Greetings on behalf of the Physical Education Department at Buffalo Public School #82 Early Childhood Center.  I am delighted to have your child in class this year. For your child's safety we strongly recommend that they wear tennis shoes or soft soled shoes that lace or velcro, cover the toes, and give adequate support to the foot and ankle during Physical Education class.  Dress shoes, boots sandals, flip flops, crocs, and unlaced shoes increase the risk of injury as there is a lot of movement involved in Physical Education class.  For this reason, your child will not be allowed to participate in the scheduled activity if they are not wearing the appropriate shoes.  I expect students to follow verbal directions, to participate to the best of their ability, to show good sportsmanship, to use appropriate safety skills, and to respect their teachers and other students.  These rules are posted in they gym for the entire school year and I expect every student to follow them at all times.
If for any reason your child must miss Physical Education class due to injury or illness, we ask that you send in a note with your child or contact the school.  We would like the note to be specific about what your child cannot do.  If your child must miss more than 3 consecutive days of Physical Education class, a doctor's note will be needed.
I believe the upcoming year will be exciting and one in which your child experiences many physical successes.  I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you.  Please feel free to contact me at 716-816-4070 if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your cooperation, and let's make this year a great year!

    Respectfully,
