Welcome to Kindergarten! I would like to take this moment to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Draudt and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Dr. Lydia T. Wright School of Excellence. I have taught at this school for over 10 years and each year I am blessed to teach the young minds that enter my classroom.
I know that things are a bit unknown right now, but I would like to reassure you that I will do my best to provide you with as much information as possible. When information does become available, you may find many ways you get ahold of me.
I am available by call/text at (716) 226-0552. I also use the app Class Dojo. I will supply you with the log in information on the first day of school. Just like texting, you can message me, see pictures of your child's work, and monitor how your child is doing both academically and behaviorally. If online learning continues, we hope to be using an app called SeeSaw and a meeting platform called Microsoft Teams. My teacher website will be updated as often as possible. You may also feel free to email me any questions or concerns you may have at MDraudt@buffaloschools.org.
Please take a moment to look at the Kindergarten Supply list that is posted here. While we do not know exactly what will happen in the fall, these are supplies that will help your child both at home and school. Please make sure that your child has a label on ALL items so that they may use only their personal materials. Please remember we are a uniform school. Students must wear a navy-blue shirt and khaki bottoms. When classrooms are air-conditioned, we ask that students have a NON-hooded navy-blue sweater or sweatshirt. Sneakers are required in order to particitpate in gym. An extra pair of sneakers may be kept in their cubbies during the winter/boots time. Please be sure to put your child's name on ALL items BEFORE bringing them to school. This will save time and confusion on the first day and be greatly appreciated.
As stated before, we are in a different and unknown time. I can say with certainty that with us working together, we can get through the unknown and have a great year in Kindergarten. Please remember to contact me via call, text, emails, website, or Class Dojo for any questions ro concerns you may have.
I cannot wait to meet each one of you, (hopefully in the building) at the end of Summer. It will also be very important that you update me on any phone number or address changes so that we may continue to provide you with the most up to date information.
Waiting with anticipation of our meeting,
Mrs. Draudt
