  • Welcome to the Buffalo Public Schools

    Teleconferencing Web Site .

The Buffalo School District has the capability to communicate electronically thru Video Conferencing Equipment and Lifesize Video Conference Equipment.

    In the Classroom :

Videoconferencing provides students with the opportunity to learn by participating in a 2-way communication platform where teachers and lecturers from all over the world can be brought into the classroom. Students from diverse communities and backgrounds can come together to learn about one another. Students are able to explore, communicate, analyze, share information and ideas with one another. Through videoconferencing students can visit another part of the world to speak with others, visit a zoo, a museum and so on, to learn. These "virtual field trips" can bring opportunities to children and teach courses (such as foreign languages) which could not otherwise be offered.

    In the Office :

Videoconferencing can also bring teachers and building or district administrators at different sites together for a meeting. This can be as simple as a conversation between two people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several sites (multi-point) with more than one person in large rooms at different sites. Besides the audio and visual transmission of meeting activities, videoconferencing can be used to share documents, computer and whiteboard displayed information.

    How we do it :

We utilize Lifesize Video Conference Equipment for small audience settings (1 to 4 individuals) - Point to Point. These systems are also capable to connect to our Tandberg conference bridge and participate in Multi-Site Video Conferences.

We Perform Video System Compatibility and Function Tests prior to each Scheduled Conference, Usually 2 days before the actual conference date.
