¡Bienvenidos a mi clase de Español! - Greeting Parents!

  • My name is Sra. Sidell and I wanted to welcome YOU and your CHILDREN to my Spanish classroom!

This is my 12th year teaching Spanish language and I’m very excited to be a part of the Lydia T. Wright and North Park Academy families. My focus this year will be on getting my students excited about learning Spanish language and instilling in them the understanding of the diverse Spanish culture through meaningful instruction and real life experiences. Level I Spanish curriculum will introduce the students to the basic vocabulary and sentence structure to prepare them for the Proficiency Exam at the end of the school year. Eigth grade Spanish class will also explore those concepts but on a less intense level. I look forward to a great school year with you children and you!

Here is a little information about me.

I was born and raised in Poland, and educated in Spain, Ireland and USA. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education and M.S. in Educational Computing, both from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY. Before joining Buffalo Public School District this year, I taught for four years at Nichols Middle School and another four years in two different Charter Schools, all in Buffalo.

I have lived in Buffalo for the past 20 years and I love this city. I have two beautiful kids and a wonderful husband. I am passionate about languages and diverse cultures. In my free time (which I don’t have a lot!), I love to read and travel.

Once again, I am very excited about this school year and I look forward to working with you to help your child succeed in Spanish class!
