  • Hello, I am Mr. Jakiel, one of the Social Studies IV teacher's at Hutch Tech.  Social Studies IV covers Economics and Participation in Government.

Classes are designed to make course material relevant for today's changing world.  Students will be engaged in lessons that are both fun and challenging at the same time.  My goal is for students to become both critical thinkers and assets to their communities.

Economics and Participation in Government need to be passed separately for students to graduate. Economics is worth .5 credit and Participation in Government is worth .5 credit for a total of 1 Social Studies IV credit.

Also, it is very important that seniors fulfill their community service obligation as soon as possible, they need to complete a minimum of 20 hours of service.  This is all done through volunteer work in the community.  Students should see me for suggestions...
