Welcome! I have been teaching in Buffalo Public Schools at International Preparatory School since it opened in September of 2007.  I earned my BA in Biology from Mercyhurst University and my MS Ed. in Secondary Education (Biology 5-12) from Niagara University. In addition, I tok additional coursework through Buffalo State College to earn a second science certification in Earth Science for grades 7-12. My professional career includes 14 years of teaching Living Environment, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology and Earth Science. I am an active member of the school community serving on School Based Management Team, Community Engagement Team, Safe and Civil Committee, Peer Mentoring and the district Science Curriculum Committee. I am also a New York State Master Teacher and enjoy the high-quality professional learning and mentoring opportunities that are offered by the program.  I am a member of STANYS and NSTA, serving as the co-SAR for Earth Science for STANYS (Western Section). As a Master Teacher and STANYS SAR I have had the opportunity to develop and lead professional development opportunities in science teaching best practices for teachers throughout New York. Outside of school I enjoy spending time discovering Western New York with my husband and two children.
