About Us!
After School ProgrammingThe Buffalo Public School District offers After School programming for all students. Programming supports students in meeting social-emotional, academic, physical, recreational, and health and wellness needs. Each student is provided a meal or snack daily and transportation home at the end of the program. Please contact your child's soon for after school opportunities!
The After School Framework consists of:
Academic Enrichment - Activities that supplement, enhance or reinforce what is learned during the regular school day.
Positive Youth Development - Encourage students to develop into well-rounded and healthy adults who are contributing members of their communities.
Health and Wellness - Activities that promote physical fitness and healthy eating habits.

Prek-6
The Prek-6 program focuses on providing academic acceleration and enrichment while supporting students’ social-emotional needs to ensure they are prepared for the new school year. Curriculum includes:
- CLRI
- ELA and math
- Enrichment offerings that include but are not limited to science, social studies, art, PE, music, theatre, STEAM and real-world applications/activities
- Social emotional lessons; social workers will support students
- Special education, OT/PT, speech teachers will provide additional support
Grade 7/8
Grade 7/8 summer school will provide an opportunity for promotion to the next grade. Students in grades 7/8 must pass both ELA and Math and either Social Studies or Science. The following courses will be offered: English 7/8, Science 7/8, Social Studies 7/8, and Math 7/8.
9-12
Summer school for grades 9-12 will run during the month of July and August. The program will provide students the opportunity to recover credits. Students can take multiple recovery classes during the program. Non-Regents accrual courses will be offered to help students stay on track with their cohort.
Summer Camp
The Buffalo Public Schools, City of Buffalo and Say Yes Buffalo have partnered together to provide free summer programming to students in grades PreK through 6 (must be 5 by July 1st). Summer Camps are held each summer during the months of July and August. The summer camp full-day/half-day program runs Monday-Friday. The camp program consists of an academic component that reinforces school-year lessons plus an enrichment component that seeks to expand students’ exposure to leadership, arts, culture and other activities.
