About Our Program
Buffalo Public Schools in partnership with BestSelf Behavioral Health offers a high quality expanded learning program. The Extended Learning program is an integral part of South Park High as it enriches the lives of students, families, and the community. Through afterschool, students gain access to certified teachers who are able to help students in all subjects and offer additional academic support. Students and families also engage in positive youth development, social-emotional and health and wellness activities that support their development and prepare them for the future. The mission of BestSelf’s Building Brighter Futures program at South Park is to enhance students' academic achievement and socio-emotional development, and to foster lifelong interests in the arts and recreation by providing high-quality out-of-school opportunities that will provide them life skills, help students achieve, and that will meaningfully engage and support adult family members in helping their children and families succeed. The Extended Learning program at South Park is free and is accessible for all families throughout the school year. The program is aligned with the goals of the school and the community.
