My name is Laurie Weiskopff and I will be your child's Special Education teacher at Harvey Austin Elementary School. My mission is to build an authentic relationship with your child.  Everyday I will try to understand their individual needs.  I will treat them with respect and compassion.  I achieve to create a classroom that is conducive for purposeful learning to a diverse population of students. I will provide meaningful instruction that engages different learning styles. It will be my responsibility to be enthusiastic, motivating, and knowledgeable to ensure that all individuals will be successful and work to the best of their ability.

Here is a little bit about my background. I received my Master's Degree from Canisius College.  In my 23 years of teaching I have taught many children with varying disabilities in the classroom, as well as the home setting.  In addition to being a teacher, I am a mother to 2 children, Lexi and Ryan.  I have 3 cats (Rosie, Jack, and Luna) and a dog (Nala).  They all keep me busy and on my toes.  You can see me out and about taking Ryan to his soccer practices and games, as well as just walking around in the neighborhood or working in my yard.  I enjoy hanging out with friends, reading books, having bonfires, and going camping.
