Ms. Ellen Connell

Thank you for visiting this page to learn more about me!

While this is my 4th year working for Buffalo Public Schools, and my 3rd year at Harvey Austin, this school year actually marks my 20th year working as an educator.

Previously, I taught Spanish and Italian at Canisius High School from 2001- 2003. I taught Spanish at North Tonawanda High School from 2003-2006. At this same time I was also teaching Italian at Niagara County Community College. In 2006 I began working at Pinnacle Charter School teaching Italian. I eventually came to teach Spanish, Italian, and French for Pinnacle, until the school closed in 2013 and was converted to BPS school 115. From 2013-2018, I worked for Oracle Charter School: my first 3 years at Oracle I taught Spanish and a European Art History elective. From 2016-2018, I worked as Oracle's Director of Student Life, also known as Dean of Students. After Oracle closed in June of 2018, I came to work for BPS.

I've had the opportunity to teach Spanish for BPS while working between PS #69 and PS #32, and City Honors as well. This school year will be my first year working full time with the students at Harvey Austin, since I no longer have to split my time between school buildings!

I am the oldest of six children, and am a proud Auntie to five nieces and three nephews, ages 3-10. I'm also a Cat Mom to 3 fur babies. I love reading, listening to music, and traveling. The ocean is one of my favorite places to be, and sea turtles are my favorite ocean animal.
