Welcome to first grade with Miss Piaggione and Mrs. Worthy!
We are so excited to start off a fantatstic school year with you!
A little bit about Miss Piaggione...
Hello first graders! I am so lucky to have you all in my class this year :) I have been teaching in the Buffalo Public Schools for the past three years. When I first started teaching in Buffalo, I was a first grade teacher, but then I was moved up to teach 5th and 6th graders. First grade is THE BEST and I feel so lucky to be back in first grade teaching this class. I am not originally from Buffalo, but I have lived here for most of my life. I am a big Buffalo Bills fan and I also love to go and watch the Buffalo Sabres play! I attended Canisius College and I played 4 years of Divison 1 soccer there. Sports, especially soccer, are a huge part of my life. I currently coach the JV girls soccer team at Williamsville North, which happens to be where I went to high school! My family lives all over the place (Long Island, Washington D.C., and Hawaii)! So I miss them very much. Family is extrememly important to me. I like to treat my class like our own little family. I am here for you for anything you need and I will always do my best to ensure that you are learning each and every day and having FUN while doing it!
A little bit about this school year...
The start to this school year is going to be very different than past years. But that is OKAY! Although we are going to be starting completely virtual, we are still going to be learning, growing, and having fun every day! We will be learning together with the help of TEAMS, which is a site where we can meet virtually and conduct live lessons. I will also have "office hours" through teams. This means that if you are working independently at home and you need help or you have a question, you will be able to join our TEAMS room and I will be there to help you!
All of the information you need to be successful this year is going to be on this website, as well as a few other places. I will post information, tools, and resources on this website, schoology, class dojo, and teams. We will also have a monthly class newsletter, which you can access on here, schoology, or dojo. Our assignments and homework will be available to you on all of these sites as well!
Hopefully this website will help to keep you informed on a variety of topics important to your child's educational development. If you ever have questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me! I am here for YOU!
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org or you can reach me through schoology and/or class dojo!
