Dr. Evans-Brown was originally sworn in as Vice President of Student Achievement on July 1, 2020, and again on July 1, 2021.
Dr. Evans-Brown was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., a graduate of Buffalo Public Schools and her children attended and graduated from BPS. She is married to Paul, a retired NYS and Erie County employee. She is the Coordinator of Buffalo Urban League’s Preventive Services and High Fidelity Wraparound Programs and an Adjunct/Evaluator with SUNY Empire State College. A former Buffalo Schools Substitute Teacher for 5 years, former Assistant Director of UB’s STEP Program, former Director of UB’s Liberty Partnerships Program, Director of Child & Family Services-Reach Out, former Managing Director of Tru-Way Community Services’ after-school reading program (George K. Arthur Community Center), former After-hours Child Protection Worker for 23 years and a NYS Credentialed Parent Educator.
Dr. Evans-Brown attended State University of New York at Buffalo ((post-graduate) and State University College at Buffalo earning a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services from Medaille College. She completed a doctorate degree in Philosophy-Management-Leadership & Strategic Change from Walden University. Dr. Evans-Brown is a grant writer, a consultant and author, “The Link Between Leadership and Reduced Dropout Rates” published in a soft covered book-by Lambert Academic Publishing, 2015 and has co-published in local newspapers as it relates to HIV/AIDS epidemic.
She is passionate about youth and the disproportionate number of youth who fail to complete high school. She strongly believes that” failure is not an option” Dr. Evans-Brown is a member of New Mt. Ararat Temple of Prayer, Women of Integrity (WOI) and Career Women’s Organization (NAFE Chapter).
