Nominations Wanted!

Friends For A Better Buffalo, a local nonprofit that take pride in Buffalo and the Western New York region and work consists of establishing and promoting positive events that highlight and strengthen our community, is now accepting nominations for the 2nd Annual 2021 Excellence In Education Awards.  The event will highlight the critically important and transformational role outstanding educators play in the success of students and the Buffalo community.  



Nominations of teachers, principals, and support staff (such as nurses, counselors, resource officers, etc.) in Buffalo’s public, private, and charter schools are welcomed and may be entered for consideration by clicking the link HERE  or by visiting the organization’s website at . The nomination deadline is February 28, 2021. Self-nominations are acceptable.  


Excellence In Education Award finalists and recipients will be announced during a premier awards telecast to be shown on WBBZ-V on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

"Teachers and school leaders are doing heroic work to support students and the Buffalo community during the rapid transition to virtual learning due to the current pandemic,” said Friends For A Better Buffalo Founder Terrance Heard. “To highlight the extraordinary efforts of educators, especially during a pandemic, we are encouraging the entire Western New York Community, and individuals across the country, to nominate a city of Buffalo teacher, principal, or support staff member who went above-and-beyond to ensure the success of our students”.
