Become a Substitute Teacher or Administrator!

BPS is always looking for substitute teachers and administrators to join our team.

As a substitute teacher, you will have the opportunity to assist in elementary, middle or high school. A Bachelor's Degree is required, NYS Teaching Certification is a plus.

As a substitute administrator, you will have the opportunity to assist in elementary, middle or high school. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA), New York State School Supervisor (SAS), School District Leader (SDL), or School Building Leader (SBL) certificate by the time of appointment.

PAY RATE (substitute teacher):

$123 - $150 for Non-Certified Substitutes
$127 - $154 for Certified Substitutes
$1000 bonus (twice yearly) for any substitute teacher who works 50 days or more per semester.

PAY RATE (substitute administrator):

 Starting daily rate of $300

HOW TO BECOME A BPS SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.

Candidates MUST attend an Interview.  If successful with the interview, the candidate would be required to attend a Substitute Teacher Orientation.  Each session lasts approximately 3 hours.
