African Rhythm Club
Advisor: Ms. Obot
The main purpose of African Dance Club is to establish cultural exchanges among all students, by celebrating and educating them about Africa and African peoples' rich culture. We also examine the influence of African culture on the Americas and the world. African Dance Club raises the awareness of dance as a tool to facilitate the health and well-being of our students. African Dance Club makes the joy and heritage of African, dance, song and rhythm available to ALL, and disestablishes stereotypes concerning both American and “black” dancing bodies. Dance is from the people and by the people and must be given back to the people.

Art Club
Advisor: Ms. Cappuzzello
The Art Club will meet once weekly. This is a time for students to both work independently on art skills of their choosing as well as group projects to benefit the school. Projects may include murals, crafts for fundraising, collaborating with Environmental Club on the rain barrel project, creating displays throughout the building, and staging our annual art show. Art club provides a way to build an inclusive space for community and freedom of expression.

Environmental Club
Advisor: Ms. Cross
The Environmental Club provides students with opportunities to spread awareness of environmental issues and ways to reduce our carbon footprint. This club offers our students the opportunity to take action in our school and community. Our meetings also provide students with a place to explore environmental concepts beyond the curriculum.

South Asian Heritage Club
Advisor: Ms. Bachwitz and Ms. Lash
The South Asian Heritage Club seeks to provide a community space for students of South Asian descent and anyone else interested in learning about South Asian culture. Through education; activities; enjoying ethnic snacks and foods and dance, the club provides a safe space to learn about and participate in activities that celebrate South Asian culture. Our goal is to share the beauty of this culture and to have fun together. We also hope to participate in some community services projects in order to learn about the needs in our community and to help others. The club is open to any student who has an interest in learning more about this culture. We will be meeting every other Tuesday after school in room 412.

Cycling Club
Advisor: Mrs. Gerwitz-Dunn | Room 537
The Hutch Tech Bike Club rides Tuesdays and Thursdays while the weather is good, in fall and spring. We ride city streets, trying to ride where there are bike lanes as much as possible. Our focus is safe riding - riding in a straight line, being a predictable rider for cars, using hand signals, obeying stop signs and traffic lights as cars do. During the winter months we still meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, but our focus moves to bike repairs - fixing flats, repairing and replacing brake pads and brake cables as well as gear cables.

D&D Club
Advisor: Mr. B. Gibson | Room 410
In the Dungeons and Dragons Club, students will have the chance to create unique characters, solve complex challenges, and collaborate with others to overcome obstacles in a fantasy setting. Dungeons and Dragons promotes critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving, while also encouraging storytelling and imagination. Participation in the club helps students improve communication and leadership skills, as players must work together and strategize as a group. It fosters creativity through world-building and character development, and it also provides a welcoming space to make new friends who share similar interests.

Research shows that students at schools with GSAs are less likely to feel unsafe or experience discrimination, and have better attendance. It is a safe space for students to learn about sexual orientation, gender identity, and related issues. It also provides a supportive environment for students to socialize, find community, and receive support. GSAs can participate in community service projects, awareness activities, and other events.
