At Bennett Park Montessori, our mission is to cultivate an inclusive learning environment where each child’s unique potential is recognized and nurtured. With a commitment to academic excellence, our staff, with the support of parents and caregivers, provides a developmentally appropriate, multi-aged, child-centered curriculum which fosters respect and celebrates our differences through the Montessori approach.

We envision a community where students are inspired to reach their highest academic and personal potential, supported by dedicated educators and engaged families. By fostering a culture of respect, curiosity, and resilience, we aim to prepare our students to excel in a rapidly changing world and to make meaningful contributions to society. Through continuous improvement and commitment to Montessori philosophy, we strive to create an environment where every child can thrive and achieve their dreams.

Our teachers have NYS certification and Montessori training, and many have a Montessori credential.

As a public Montessori school, we:

• Follow the NYS Common Core Learning Standards.

• Use Buffalo Public teaching resources and assessments.

• Integrate a Montessori approach to learning by using lessons from the Montessori curriculum.

• Instill a peaceful community through a peace curriculum, classroom meetings, and restorative practices.

• Involve the use of hands-on materials for mastery learning and problem solving. As students get older, there are less materials, but more research and project-based learning.

• Embrace the whole child through multi-aged classrooms (3-6), (5-7), (6-9), (9-12), and (12-14).

• Students use work cards to manage choice of work within teacher-set limits while the teacher works individually or with small groups of students.

• Connect to the natural outdoor environment.

• Provide quarterly Report Cards
