Mrs. Cullen holds New York State certifications in Earth Science (Grades 9–12) and General Science (Grades 6–12) and is also licensed as a School District Administrator. She began her educational career in 1998 as an Earth Science teacher with the Corning-Painted Post School District in Corning, New York.
In August 1999, Mrs. Cullen returned to her hometown of Buffalo after accepting a position as an Earth Science teacher at Buffalo Traditional School, where she taught from 1999 to 2003. She then continued her teaching career at Middle Early College High School, serving students there from 2003 to 2008.
In July 2008, Mrs. Cullen transitioned into district leadership when she was appointed Supervisor in the Office of School Performance. In March 2012, she was promoted to Director, a role she held in the same office, later renamed the Office of School Leadership, until November 2016.
In November 2016, Mrs. Cullen was appointed Principal of Research Laboratory High School. As principal, she is committed to providing students with innovative learning experiences and ensuring they have access to the many academic, cultural, and career opportunities available throughout the Buffalo community. Through her dedication to student success, she continues to foster an environment where all students are encouraged to explore their interests, pursue their goals, and reach their full potential.
