Dear Parent or Guardian:

Each year, the Buffalo City School District conducts an ED School Climate (EDSCLS) student survey.  It will ask students about their perceptions on topics such as student engagement, school environment, and school safety.  This survey will be administered to students during the regular school day, between October 2025 - April 2026, to students in grades 1-12. RLHS will administer the survey in March of 2026

This survey is voluntary.  Your student’s responses will not be shared with anyone, and he/she does not have to participate in this survey.  As a parent or guardian, you may ask that your child not participate in this survey.  This is called parent opt-out.

If you do not wish to have your child participate in this survey, please return this form to your child’s Main Office before the survey administration window. One form must be completed for each child, in grades 1-12, in the district.  There are no consequences or penalties if your student does not participate.   Hardcopies of the form will be provided to students the week of February 23, 2026 or you can view for access.
