Our School Improvement & Receivership Plan

At Lovejoy Discovery School #43, we are committed to providing every student with high-quality instruction, a supportive learning environment, and the opportunities they need to succeed.

As a Receivership School, we work in partnership with the New York State Education Department our families, staff, students, and community partners to implement a comprehensive school improvement plan. Receivership provides a structured process for identifying areas where our school can improve, establishing clear goals, and regularly monitoring our progress toward those goals.

For the 2026–2027 school year, our Receivership Continuation Plan focuses on four key areas:

  • Mathematics: Deepening students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics.

  • English Language Arts: Strengthening students’ comprehension and analysis of complex texts.

  • Attendance & Belonging: Improving attendance by creating a stronger sense of connection and belonging at school.

  • Family & Community Engagement: Strengthening communication between our school, families, and community.

Throughout the year, our school team will regularly review student data, classroom practices, attendance, family engagement, and other evidence to determine what is working and where adjustments may be needed. Families and community members are important partners in this work, and we encourage you to learn about our goals, follow our progress, and participate in opportunities to help shape the continued improvement of Lovejoy Discovery School #43.

Together, we are working toward one goal: ensuring that every Lovejoy student has access to a safe, welcoming, engaging, and academically rigorous learning experience.
