Academics

At School 6, our academic program is aligned with Buffalo Public Schools curriculum and the New York State Learning Standards. We are committed to providing rigorous, engaging instruction that builds strong literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills for all students in grades PK–8.

Our teachers use district-adopted curricula, research-based instructional practices, and targeted supports to ensure every student grows academically each year.

Below, families can explore grade-level expectations, curriculum information, digital learning tools, and how we measure student progress.

Grade Level Expectations

Listed below are examples of Buffalo Public Schools’ academic expectations for students grades PreK-8.

Curriculum & Core Instruction

Students learn, create, and explore through rigorous core instruction and engaging encore experiences.

Digital Learning Tools

School 6 utilizes district-approved digital learning tools to support instruction, personalize learning, and prepare students for a digital world. These platforms are aligned with Buffalo Public Schools curriculum and are used to enhance classroom instruction, provide targeted practice, monitor student progress, and promote collaboration.

Not all tools are used at every grade level. Teachers select digital resources based on instructional goals and student needs.

Academic Support and Enrichment

School 6 provides additional academic supports to ensure student success. Our goal is to meet students where they are and help them grow.
