Attention parents and caregivers of students attending Extended School Year (ESY) this summer: Are your child’s vaccines up to date? If so, please disregard.
Updated Immunization Requirements:
Students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) who are enrolled in the Extended School Year (ESY) summer school program must be up to date with all required immunizations for the grade they will enter in September. Your child will be excluded from ESY if they're not up to date with their immunizations.
NYS mandates certain vaccines are required for school, this includes attendance for Summer ESY. If vaccinations are not updated after 14 days from the start of ESY, students will not be allowed to attend school in accordance with NYS Public Health Law 2164. Students must be up-to-date with the immunizations needed for their new grade level for the 2025-2026 school year.
Your child’s doctor can answer questions about their vaccine status. Make an appointment with your child’s doctor if vaccinations are needed to avoid being excluded starting July 22nd. Please send updated vaccination records to your child’s school nurse if you have not already done so.
