Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Today, Monday, October 6, out of an abundance of caution, we went into a brief lockout due to a disturbance near our school. The Buffalo Police were immediately contacted and responded swiftly. The police determined it was safe to lift the lockout, and we resumed regular school activities.

As a reminder, we will be conducting our lockdown drill ( safety drill) this week as noted in the letter sent home last week.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Principal Schuta

Dear Parents/Guardians:

One of the components of New York State “Project Save” legislation is the requirement to practice

Emergency Response Drills (Safety Drills). The Buffalo Police Department partners with our school to

assure satisfaction with the completion of the drills.

In compliance with “Project Save” requirements we will hold our practice Lockdown drill during the week of October 6, 2025.

Before this date, teachers will discuss this safety drill in their classrooms with the students. Teachers

will share the comparison of fire drills that are held regularly. As we practice “fire drills” to keep us

safe outside our school, we will practice “Safety Drills” to keep us safe inside our school.

Our Safety Drill includes the following procedures in each classroom once a building announcement

has been made:

- Teacher closes and locks classroom door, lights remain on, and blinds are raised.

- Students will move to an area in the classroom away from windows/doors and will be seated

on the floor.

- Everyone waits for the official “all clear” from the Principal or Police Chief.

We are committed to maximizing the safety of everyone in our school by practicing these drills. We

also want every student to be comfortable with our procedures and confident that they are safe in

school.

Please do not hesitate to call with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I am writing to inform you that on Wednesday, September 26, 2025, out of an abundance of caution, we went into a brief lockout due to a disturbance near the school. We immediately contacted the Buffalo Police, who responded swiftly and determined it was safe to lift the lockout, and we resumed regular school activities.

Thank you for your cooperation and please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Principal Schuta

If vaccinations are not updated by September 17, 2025, students will not be allowed to attend school starting September 18, 2025, in accordance with NYS Public Health Law 2164. Your child’s doctor can answer questions about their vaccine status. Please send updated vaccination records to Medicalrecords or send them in with your child to school.

Be aware that students will be required to store their internet-capable personal devices from the first bell to final dismissal.
