ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

As part of the Superintendent’s New Education Bargain with Students and Parents, Research Laboratory High School for Bioinformatics & Life Sciences opened in September 2016 as a new innovative high school.

Our vision:  The program will offer an interactive and engaging environment based on project-based learning and collaboration with the medical community.  This college preparatory program will prepare our graduates with the knowledge, skills and experiences to enroll in post-secondary science courses of study leading to high demand careers in a global economy.

The program is designed for students who are interested in careers related to medical research and the medical field.  We currently have small cohorts of 50 students in each grade level.  We are looking for students from all backgrounds who enjoy science and math to join our program and through our partnership with the University at Buffalo, students will experience science research in the classroom, in the Buffalo medical community and globally through technology like our state of the art science equipment and 1:1 laptop devices for all students.
