Happy Groundhog Day! A tradition in folklore where a groundhog, specifically Punxsutawney Phil, emerges from his burrow to "predict" the weather. If he sees his shadow, six more weeks of winter are predicted; if not, an early spring is expected.
Throughout February, Buffalo Public Schools celebrates Black History Month by highlighting the history, excellence, and impact of Black communities in Buffalo and beyond.
World Hijab Day, observed on February 1st, raises awareness about the hijab and promotes religious tolerance. It encourages women of all backgrounds to wear a hijab for a day to foster understanding and combat stereotypes.

Due to the need to complete scoring for NYS Regents exams following today’s school closure, all Buffalo Public Schools high school students (Grades 9–12) will participate in a remote learning day on Tuesday, January 27.
💻 Students will connect remotely with their teachers via Schoology, Clever, and Teams.
🏫 PreK–8 students will attend in-person as scheduled.
👩🏫 All staff should report to their worksites.
🏅 All afterschool athletic practices WILL take place as scheduled.
🎓 Buffalo State and SUNY Erie classes will continue to be held in person. Senior seminar will take place in person at SUNY Erie at 8:30.
