Buffalo Public Schools will reopen tomorrow, Monday, January 22, 2024. The district also advises students to dress warmly and cautions them against walking in the street. As there may be slight school bus delays, families can receive updated arrival times using the FIRSTview app available at: https://www.buffaloschools.org/page/firstview

Due to the record amounts of snow caused by the snowstorm, the Buffalo Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19. Multiple neighborhoods, especially south of Broadway, still have streets that are unsafe for school buses to travel on, unpassable sidewalks, and high snowbanks that make it dangerous for students to walk to and from school. All students and staff are to stay home.   All Saturday and weekend events are also canceled. Those in need of assistance should call 211 for food needs and emergency shelter information or call 988 for mental health resources.

Due to the continuing, severe snowstorm, the Buffalo Public Schools will remain closed on Thursday, January 18, 2024. All students and staff are to stay home. Please follow all guidance from the city and county and stay safe and warm.

The Prekindergarten Night at the Museum scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2024, is being rescheduled. The PreK department will communicate a new date once the event is rescheduled with all PreK parents and schools.

Due to the snowfall accumulations and the anticipated severe weather event starting tomorrow, the Buffalo Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. All students and staff are to remain at home. Families will be updated tomorrow through the media, automated calls and the district webpage when a decision has been made for Thursday. Due to persistent and continuing snow and high snow accumulations in portions of the city, the Buffalo Public School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. All students and staff are to remain home. Please stay warm and stay safe.

Due to Governor Hochul's declaration of a State of Emergency starting tomorrow afternoon, the Buffalo Public Schools is canceling all activities scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Celebrating Dr. King's and Mrs. McVay's enduring visions for a just society. City Honors High School hosts the 44th Annual "Keeping the Dream Alive" Assembly starting today at 9:00 am.

In an effort to take proactive safety measures to keep students and staff safe, the Buffalo Public Schools will cancel all after school activities on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, including Extended Learning Time (ELT), athletic activities, Adult Education, and Parent Center activities. This cancellation is due to news reports of anticipated extremely high wind gusts in the early evening hours.
