Student Technology Leadership Program IT Career Expo Technology Department

The Student Technology Leadership Program’s 4th Annual IT Career Expo, held at the Center for Innovation, Technology and Training, provided students with an engaging, hands-on introduction to careers in technology. The event brought together students from Lewis J. Bennett School of Innovation #363 and Hutchinson Central Technical High School for a day of exploration, learning, and competition.

Mike Fabozzi, Coordinator of Instructional Technology Programs, led an interactive session on emerging careers in drone technology, where students not only learned about the field but also competed in timed drone obstacle courses, putting their skills to the test in a fun and competitive environment.

Industry professionals Darick Corbett and James Monroe from Alternative Information Systems offered students an inside look at the role of an IT Technician. Their session included a hands-on troubleshooting activity in which students worked through real-world device issues, gaining practical experience and insight into the problem-solving skills required in the field.

Together, these experiences gave students meaningful exposure to high-demand technology careers while building their confidence, collaboration, and technical skills.
