Families of 7th/8th Graders!

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) recently revised the Athletic Placement Process (APP), which is required for middle school students (7th or 8th Graders) who wish to try out for a high school-level athletic team. Under the updated regulations, participation in the APP must be approved through the district's established process before a student may be eligible to try out for a JV or Varsity team.

To be considered for participation, families must complete the APP Request Form and carefully review the updated APP procedures and eligibility requirements.

Please note that completion of the APP does not guarantee a roster spot or team selection. Students who are approved through the APP process will be evaluated using the same team-selection criteria as all other athletes trying out for that team. Previously passing the old format of APP does not exempt any athlete from the new process. All athletes must complete the new process.
