The Montessori Philosophy

Montessori is a child-centered approach to education developed through the research and observations of Dr. Maria Montessori. At its core, Montessori education recognizes that children are naturally curious and capable learners who thrive when given opportunities to explore, make choices, and take responsibility for their learning.

Montessori education emphasizes the development of the whole child. Academic growth is important, but so is the development of confidence, responsibility, perseverance, empathy, and problem-solving skills. A cornerstone of Montessori education is Peace Education, which helps students develop skills such as communication, empathy, conflict resolution, and mutual respect. These experiences foster a strong sense of community and help students learn how to work collaboratively with others.
