Buffalo School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, in alignment with state law and district policy, will be implementing our new bell-to-bell distraction-free policy starting on the first day of school, Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Please see the step-by-step procedure for students below:
Students enter the building and walk through the Evolv system.
Students sign in with their 900 number at the front desk.
Students will enter the hallway near security and find their LAST PERIOD cell phone storage bin. During the school day, storage bins will be locked in a designated room.
Students will place their personal internet-enabled device in their appropriate numbered slot. ??? Should we put a roster for last period and assign number slots?
Students will not be able to access their devices until the end of last period.
During last period, the storage bins will be delivered to all last period classes.
At ______, teachers will allow students to retrieve their devices from their assigned number slot.
Late Arrival Students will follow the procedure above. Cell phone storage lockers may be locked up in the security office. Security will assist students.
Early Release Students (before last period) will retrieve their device from the security office.
If students are caught with their cell phone at any time between first and last bell (and at any location in the building):
1st offense: Cell phone will be confiscated and taken to the main office. Student can retrieve at the end of the day.
2nd offense: Cell phone will be confiscated and taken to the main office. A parent/guardian must come to the school to pick up the cell phone
3rd offense: Cell phone will be confiscated and taken to the main office. It will then be sent to City Hall for 10 days until a parent/guardian retrieves it.
If a student has more than three offenses, ___________________________
If parents/guardians need to get a message to a student during the day, please call the main office. Staff in the main office will take a message. If you need to speak directly to your child, please call the main office. Staff will then do their best to have your child return your call in a timely manner.
