February 24: This Day in Black History — In 1926, Carter G. Woodson launched launched a movement, which later grew into Black History Month.
February 23: This Day in Black History — W.E.B. Du Bois, born in 1868, became one of the most influential scholars and civil rights leaders in American history.

February 18: This Day in Black History — Toni Morrison, born in 1931, became a Nobel Prize–winning author whose work transformed American literature.
