BUFFALO PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY - REPORTING LOST OR STOLEN DISTRICT ISSUED STUDENT DEVICE
Please follow these steps to report your lost/stolen laptop or tablet:
Student should report their device missing to their classroom teacher.
Family/caretaker or staff member must go, in person, to police station and report the device stolen. A printed police report is necessary for replacement to be given- an online report is insufficient.
Police report can be brought to the CITT, 1515 South Park Ave. Buffalo New York 14220 or scanned and e-mailed to BPSinventory by teacher or ITC. In the same email, a device lock request and replacement request can be made.
Email bpsinventory@buffaloschools.org with student 900 number to inform that student device has been stolen.
* Please note, any request for a replacement device is dependent on additional approval from the IT department, as well as compliance with providing a copy of a Police Report in the IT work ticket, which is reviewed by the Audit Department.
Student replacement devices do not come with a replacement charging cord. If one is needed, there is a separate cost for the replacement. This cost is not included in the replacement of the device.
For iPad devices, the replacement cost for a charger is $ 30.00.
For Dell devices, the replacement cost for a charger is $ 35.00.
