Substitute Teachers or Administrators
BPS is always looking for substitute teachers and administrators to join our team.
Substitute Teachers
As a substitute teacher, you will have the opportunity to assist in elementary, middle or high school. A Bachelor's Degree is required, NYS Teaching Certification is a plus.
Pay Rate (Substitute Teacher)
$123 - $150 | Non-Certified Substitutes
$127 - $154 | Certified Substitutes
$1000 Bonus (Twice Yearly) | For any substitute teacher who works 50 days or more per semester.
How to Become a Substitute Teacher
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
Candidates must attend an interview. If successful, candidates will be required to attend a Substitute Teacher Orientation. Each session lasts approximately three hours.

Substitute Administrator
As a substitute administrator, you will have the opportunity to assist in elementary, middle or high school. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA), New York State School Supervisor (SAS), School District Leader (SDL), or School Building Leader (SBL) certificate by the time of appointment.
Pay Rate (Substitute Administrator)
$300 | Starting Daily Rate
