Effective September 13, 2022, section 100.5 (b) of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education were amended to immediately permit students to satisfy the science laboratory experience requirements to take a Science Regents Examination through both hands-on and simulated experience. District vetted; Science virtual/simulated labs can be found on the BPS Science Department Recommended Virtual Labs by Science Content Area document on the Science Website.

Additionally, virtual labs in the "Labster" program for Regents Biology can be used towards the 1,200-minute requirement. Teachers should continue to provide engaging, district-vetted hands-on lab experiences.
