Advanced Credit Differential Information

The Buffalo Teacher Resource Center offers valuable professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills and advance their careers. This professional development is available in two formats: classes and seminars. Classes count as 1 district credit and 15 CTLE hours, while seminars count as 3 CTLE hours each. Teachers can accumulate 5 seminars and submit them to earn 1 district credit. Teachers can take a maximum of 25 seminars, or 5 district credits through seminars. This system allows teachers to steadily build their professional credentials through flexible learning options.

As teachers accumulate district credits through the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center, reaching 10 district credits qualifies them to earn a salary increase. Teachers have the opportunity to earn up to a master's plus 30 credits, thereby advancing their educational qualifications and compensation. Importantly, the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center is the only place where teachers can access free professional development that counts towards these district credits. To keep track of district credits earned, teachers can consult their PGS transcript, although additional hours from master’s programs or other colleges and universities may also apply.

While the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center facilitates professional development and credit accumulation, it does not handle the salary raise process or the advanced credit differential forms. Teachers must complete an advanced credit differential form in order to receive this increase. Below you will find important information about the advanced credit differential forms and instructions on how to submit these forms to Human Resources to secure your raise. This ensures that teachers have clear guidance on how to translate their professional development achievements into salary advancements.
