Hotspots (Wi-Fi)

The Buffalo Public School District has a limited number of loaner Internet hotspots available for families without home access. To receive a device, a parent, guardian, or building staff member must sign an agreement outlining use policies, data limits, replacement fees, and return dates. Building staff must inform families if they sign on their behalf.

Requests are reviewed by the BPS IT Department and eligibility notifications are sent within 36 hours. Only one hotspot per household is allowed; submitting a form does not guarantee receipt. Lost devices carry a $100 replacement fee. Hotspots are for academic use only and have usage restrictions.

If you are interested in requesting a hotspot device for your child, fill out the e-form.

This service is intended to assist students in accessing online learning resources. The availability of hotspot devices is limited and may not be sufficient for all families. Other options for home internet access, such as the Federal Communication Program and Lifeline, are also available for consideration.
