Attendance
Students are expected to be on time to school and each class. Students can enter for breakfast at 8:05 am and enter the regular school day at 8:25AM.
Students must be in their assigned homeroom by 8:32AM.
Robo call system will communicate absences to guardians immediately.
Attendance teacher will assist to support chronic tardiness/absenteeism.
Administrators and staff will meet with students who are chronically absent to improve attendance.
Lockers
Backpacks and jackets will be placed in lockers first thing in the morning.
Lockers should only be accessed at arrival, transition, lunch and dismissal.
Lockers should NOT be shared.
Cellphones
Students will follow the cell phone policy in order to reinforce a school environment that is safe and conducive to student learning:
Cellphones must be turned into the cell phone lockers upon arrival. Students will receive cell phones back at the end of the day.
Students in possession of a cell phone will have it confiscated.
iPads, Tablets, Smartwatches, Bluetooth Headphones/Earbuds are also prohibited during the school day.
All devices will be returned no earlier than 3:20PM.
The following protocols are in place for any confiscated device:
1st offense – returned at the end of the day
2nd offense- parent/guardian must pick up
3rd offense – parent/guardian pick up and meeting to discuss further plan
Late to Class/Skipping Class
There will be an after school detention list posted in the cafeteria at lunches. Students must serve assigned detenions for tardies and/or class skipping
In addition, students will be issued a parent conference letter if they do not serve their detention, and parent/guardian will be notified.
Dress Code
In alignment with the District’s Code of Conduct, students must abide by the following dress code guidelines when attending school:
Personal dress, grooming and appearance must be safe, appropriate to a professional learning environment, and not disrupt or interfere with the educational procress.
Not include clothing that is see-through or excessively short
Cover all undergarnments with appropriate outer garments, including wearing pants at waist level.
Not be lewd, vulgar, obscene, and libelous or denigrate others, or cause a disruption to the school that impedes the educational program. Not promote and/or endorse the use of alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs and/or encourage other illegal or violent activities.
Include safe and appropriate footwear (No backless shoes, flip flops, slippers, slides unless medical documentation is provided).
Only include headwear that is indicated by medical or religious reasons.
Sweatshirts with hoods (or “hoodies”) can be worn, but hoods must always remain down while inside buildings.
Exclude jewelry that may be deemed a weapon. This includes, but is not limited to, a ring/piece of jewelry covering multiple fingers, spiked necklaces or belts, belts with large removable buckles, chain-like neckwear, or ninja-type star jewelry. Belts must be buckled.
Additional restrictions may be determined by the school with the approval of the Board of Education. Students who do not comply with the dress code will be asked to change and or call home to get change of clothing.
Vaping/Smoking
Vaping or smoking of any substance is not permitted in or on school premises. Students will be subjected to consequences.
Laptops
Students will pick up laptops from the appropriate charging cart in the morning and return before leaving the building.
Students must come to class daily prepared with their laptop devices fully charged and all other school materials needed for each class.
