As educational leaders, BPS School Counselors are committed to developing cooperative relationships and providing students and families with research-based supports that result in academic achievement, college and career preparedness, and personal/social wellness.
MISSION
BPS School Counselors empower academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students through the implementation of a comprehensive program designed to adhere to the NYS Department of Education regulations (Part 100.2). Counselors are advocates for equity, access, and accountability and promote school environments that foster in all students a sense of belonging and a love of learning.
As members of the educational team, School Counselors coordinate a preventative and responsive continuum of care. Within this framework, School Counselors lead, collaborate, advocate, and partner with community stakeholders including students, families, educators, and agencies.
