The Houghton Lions came out ROARING and opened the season with a huge 11-4 win over Eden Middle School last night!
This combined squad from Hillery Park, Houghton Academy, Lorraine, Lovejoy, Southside, and Discovery showed incredible hustle, communication, and teamwork from first pitch to final out!
Game Highlights:
Eli dominated on the mound with 4 strong innings, scored the first run of the game, added 2 runs scored, an RBI, and swiped multiple bases!
Arbaz crushed an RBI double to left in the 3rd inning to help build a 4-2 lead!
Jack was electric in relief, striking out 7 batters while going 3-for-3 at the plate, stealing bases, and scoring 3 runs!
Jack was a brick wall behind the plate, blocking everything in the dirt!
Antonio made a spectacular diving catch in right field to open the 5th inning!
Gabe came through with clutch defensive plays and smart base running!
This was a TRUE team win with contributions from everyone as the Lions poured on 7 more runs to seal the victory!
