Congratulations to the Burgard Bulldogs boys basketball team! They braved the weather and won the championship in the Christian Central Academy Tournament while improving to 5 - 0. They defeated a tough Tonawanda team 70 - 58. Senior Mohamed was named Tournament MVP and fellow senior Patience was named to the All - Tournament team. Congrats to Coach Phil Butler and his squad.

Way to go, Bennett Tigers Football! Our Section VI Class AA champions fought with heart in yesterday’s NYSPHSAA semifinal. Even in a tough matchup, our players and coaches—led by Head Coach Steve McDuffie—made us proud all season. Thank you to the cheer team and the entire Tiger Nation for the incredible support.

Congratulations to City Honors runner Henry from City Honors on a strong finish at the Federation Cross Country meet in Wappingers Falls. He placed 69th out of 290 with a time of 17:02.3, making City Honors and the BPS community proud. Thank you to Coach Maria Monaco for her leadership and support.


What a season! Our McKinley Macks made history with their first Section VI Class A Championship and showed incredible heart. Though the run ended last night, we’re proud of their grit. Thank you to our athletes, coaches, Principal Terence Jenkins, and the BPS community for the support.

Congrats Bennett Tigers on the win! Bennett Football defeated Penfield 26-14 at All-High Stadium to advance to the state semifinals for the 4th time in 5 seasons!

Media Day at Highmark Stadium! Come out and watch McKinley High School and Lewis J Bennett make history Thursday (9pm) and Friday (8pm) in the last ever high school football games at this historic stadium!

From breaking barriers to building confidence, our coaches shared their experiences, insights, and ideas for enhancing BPS’ girls access, equity, and participation in sports.
