
Purpose of the School Closure Committee
The Board of Education established a committee to recommend two school closures. A committee was formed and has been meeting in Fall 2025. This committee will provide a recommendation to the Board of Education by December 2025. This committee is a districtwide initiative to ensure Buffalo Public Schools and facilities align with the needs of students and families for the upcoming decades, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. This plan will address the district's overarching priorities to create sustainable, high-quality learning environments and expand access to specialized academic programs. Its central purpose is to create stronger schools and learning environments for every student.
