Herman Badillo Bilingual Academy (BPS 76) will celebrate a century of excellence with its 100 Years Centennial Celebration on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 315 Carolina Street in Buffalo.

The celebration, themed “100 Years Strong; Learning, Legacy, Language, Education, and Pride,” will honor the school’s rich history and its lasting impact on generations of students, families, and the Buffalo community.

The event will feature remarks and appearances from Buffalo Public Schools leaders, elected officials, community leaders, and partners, including Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Pascal Mubenga, Assistant Superintendent of Leadership Dr. Tamara Thomas, Board of Education President and East District Board Member Hon. Dr. Kathy Evans-Brown, Board Member Talia Rodriguez, Hispanic Heritage Council President Casimiro Rodriguez, Councilman David Rivera, and Assemblyman Jon Rivera.

The afternoon celebration will begin with a Buffalo Statue Unveiling Ceremony from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this special event, which will include a Color Guard presentation by American Legion Post 1928, proclamations from local dignitaries, and carnival activities for families.

The evening will continue with a 100 Years Celebration Gala from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in the Herman Badillo Bilingual Academy gymnasium. The adult reception will include dinner and is $25 per person. The gala is sponsored by the Hispanic Heritage Council of WNY and American Legion Post 1928.
