Buffalo Public Schools student-athletes delivered impressive performances at the 2026 NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts 4x100-meter relay team finished 8th in the Class C Finals with a time of 50.24 seconds. Freshman Ambria of Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts earned 5th place in the Class C 200-meter Final, finishing in 25.41 seconds.
City Honors School junior Henry captured the Class B 3200-meter State Championship, finishing 1st with a time of 9:15.33, and later placed 4th in the Class B 1600-meter Championship Race with a time of 4:14.27.
Hutchinson Central Technical High School junior Yerniel earned a 5th-place finish in the Class A 400-meter Hurdles Final with a time of 55.19 seconds. McKinley High School senior Cardell placed 4th in the Class B High Jump, clearing 6 feet, 1 inch.
